In our little community we have people from all over the place- From Brighton to Texas. My question is why everton? How dis you end up supporting the royal blues? Some of you is probably obvious- born and bred in the pool and couldnt bare to be a [Poor language removed] ;)

I'll start- I was born and raised in the west country but had a strong family contingent from Liverpool, The Wirral and surrounding areas. I used to visit my Aunties, cousins etc as a young boy 4 or 5 years old and used to wind them up as they supported the [Poor language removed] and only one family member (my Great Aunt) supported the blue boys- I liked my Great Aunt so I took her side. It stuck ever since and from when I was about 5 years old (1985) I have been an absolute fanatic.

Well I was born in 1979 so Everton were the team when I first started following football. That and the fact an uncle was an avid blue made it an obvious choice of team to support. Little did I realise that we'd win bugger all after those glory days and I'd be submitted to a life of footballing hardship :D

i was born in skelm but all my family is in southport, and i moved to brighton when i was about 5, all my family are blues so i didnt get much choice in the matter(thank god).

used to go to games all the time with my dad as a kid and fell in love with the toffees straight away, i just wish i could get to more games than i do now though!

as a 9th/10th or 11th ? birthday treat my dad and uncle ( Coventry and [Poor language removed] fans respectivly ) took me to GP to see us play Arsenal, i was hooked, been a blue ever since, used to go quite regularly to see us play before i got married, there was then as there is now a strong blue following in my home town.

Back in the 60's my uncle was in the RAF and stationed near liverpool, one day when needing to find a gift to send back to his little brother (my father) back in a small village in south wales, he came upon a little Everton triangle thingy, i'm not sure what they're called, but they are the things captains exchange before european games. Anyway, my father received this, was hooked and now me and my brother carry on the proud tradition. And we love it.

I have quite an unusual reason...

In about 1994/1995 my brother and I were watching tv and I never really knew much at all about the Premier League or club soccer for that matter. I'd heard of Man Utd but thats about it. So the league came up on the screen and Blackburn were top and my bro said that he supports them.

Next screen was the bottom half of the log. Low and behold Everton sitting stone bottom. So, I said to him, I'm going to support Everton because theyre at the bottom and I want them to go up.

That season, we won the FA cup!!! A few seasons later Blackburn got relegated so my brother chose a new team... who else but Liverpool. Was really a major coincidence because back then we didnt even know where on the map these places were. Anyway its all turned out really nicely!!

My father forced me to study philosophy from an early age. One day we were discussing syllogisms when this ugly K*pite walked by. My dad shouted "K*pites are gobshites!" at him, then explained to me that "All k*pites are gobshites, son; that bloke was a k*pite, therefore that bloke was a göbshite."

"You, on the otherhand, are an Evertonian."

I was born and bred in Liverpool in one of those households where my father and I are Blue whilst my Brother and Mother are Red [Poor language removed].

I dont know how or why it happened that way but thank christ it did(y)

Whilst we may have thoughts on how or why - can I refer to a well know verse that for me still sums it up quite nicely:-

Evertonians are born, not manufactured.

We do not choose, we are chosen.

Those who understand need no explanation.

Those who don't.........don't matter !!

Ditto, my dad took me to the old lady. I became hooked.

Born into a family of reds I opted for the proper path in life. We had been beaten 10 - 4 by Spurs and the reds crowed with glee, that got up my nose so I thought things can only get better for Everton and I didn't like the bigheadedness of the reds, still don't. After 60 years my family is now fully converted to the blue way with one Manc exception who has been written out of my will(y)

my dad shepherded me into the everton flock, once upon a time that decision had an iota of influence from religion, but only because of extended family.

there are two cathedrals in liverpool, make your own decisions.

Friend of mine here in the States that I played football with was a big Everton supporter so I started to learn a bit about them. In addition, Joe Max Moore was playing for Everton at the time and I followed American players overseas.

Well one thing led to another and well...there you have it.

Got hooked and am living proof that we really are born, not manufactured.

My Dad his Dad and his Dad and so on I use to go to work with my dad as a kid and he use to take us to a cafe in goodison rd and tell my son soon this will be yours pointing to the ground and as soon as I was seven(1957) he was as good as his word and I have never regretted it.(y)
