Why don't Everton have a TV channel?

Pomp

Player Valuation: £1.5m
We are the fourth most successful club in English football. We are a massive part of Liverpool. We were the first team to play at Anfield, and they would not exist if it was not for Everton.

We are Huge.

I believe we should set up our own TV channel across the UK/Europe/the world.

We have a good foundation in the Everton TV channel on the website. We have loads of ex players, loads of history, loads of fans.

We should join the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd in setting up our own TV channel.

We might not be HUGE at the moment, but the potential is there. I would be happy for us to have a TV channel knowing that we'd gain future generations of Everton fans.

We have so much history and so much of that is not going to use.

We might not be super-rich but why the heck can't we try and set up our own channel on Sky TV? We need to do things like this to remain in people's minds and to try and gain an advantage.

Yes I don't think the likes of Aston Villa should have their own TV channel, but come on, We are Everton!

I'd be happy for us to invest in this and take a risk because I think it's crucial.

The future is not on Sky TV, the majority of content found on LFC or United's channels is available online now anyway.

We would literally be throwing money down the drain.

I reckon the costs would out weigh the benefits mate.

I disagree. The benefits surely would outweigh the costs. People with no interest in football could be turned into Everton fans. Football people could be ignited with the passion that we all sometimes feel. I believe the club should be making decisions like this and intending to make them a success. Come on BK, where's the Everton TV money?

It would cost money of which we don't have to burn mate and as big as we think we are in our heads, we're not that massive to the world outside of the UK. The likes of United, Chelsea and the sh*te have big worldwide followings so their TV channels are geared towards exploiting their fans and getting them close with the brand. They buy merchandise and sign up for extras because of it.

If we done similar it would be likely that it would be a drain on already meagre resources without much benefit. If we start winning stuff again then that could change like.

United, Liverpool, and Chelsea all have a much larger fanbase than we do and they also have the financial backing to continue to fund a television channel. Everton have neither a large enough fanbase nor the financial clout to do such a thing. Add to that the fact that the internet, not television is the way forward and it becomes apparent that a TV channel is the last thing we should be worrying about.

Everton TV online provides all the content you'd expect to get on a TV channel, but is accessible all over the world in any country, and best of all, it's completely ad driven and doesn't require a Sky subscription.

We couldn't afford a wall less than twelve months ago.

I couldn't bear to hear kev the rat calling the jag Jugjelka every five minutes either.

Boring boring Everton? Why have that attitude? Why not have a positive attitude ? That view you hold is a predictable one, and one which I do not agree with. We should be making the most of our history and a TV channel is a great way to catch up with our true rivals.

if 20,000 people paid £5 a month to access a TV channel on Sky, how much would the club make? The benefits that can't be measured would surely be worth it.

Can you see 20,000 households doing that? The club ended up sacking off the subscription based evertonTV and that was far more accessible mate.

If we become a CL team in years to come, we will want a TV channel. If we already have one and then become a title-chasing side, or CL quality, we will have an advantage. The internet is the internet, I understand, but TV is something else entirely. We could have a free channel that would keep our name in people's minds also. I just think it sucks we don't do things like this.

If we become a CL team, a big IF like, and expand our fanbase worldwide and create the demand with plausible financial spin offs then yeah I'm sure we'd give it a go. As it stands it just won't happen for the reasons I've stated mate.

There are far better ways to use our money and better ways at getting our name in people's minds. Creating a tv channel to satisfy our own ego would be a foolish choice.
