WHY DO WE FEEL LOUSY WHEN WE DON'T GET A RESULT?

Player Valuation: £70m
After being present at the game today and witnessing the performance, I was utterly disappointed with our attitude and the full time score. It was never going to be easy and going back 12 months we played and drew 2-2 at Norwich who in fact went down.
Why do I or I'm sure there are many of you that feel the same but why does Everton effect us this way? it takes a weekend to recover and it does my head in. Roll on to the next 3 points wherever that may come from

Because we've spent good money as fans, and as a club, we've spent money this summer especially, as fans who have seen a good side last season, when we don't play well, when it's evident we can, it's frustrating, and for a £70 all round trip today, it's frustrating, however, had we won 3-2, it would have all been worth it.

Hope that was 1st class at that price!

3pt next Saturday..

5.30pm next Saturday mate, have a pint or 2 if you get there early though ;)

In relation to OP post, i have actually got worse as i have got older. The missus who is a Kopite knows she's in for a crap weekend if Everton lose or put in a crap performance. Its impossible to win every game but it does my nut in that we don't.

Because we are the Jewel in the Crown of English football...of course it's going to rankle when we don't win.

Just spent 5 minutes trying to put in to words something that I've just realised can't really be defined. It's as simple as Everton are boss and do boss stuff and I feel boss - crap performance / exploding knees / other operating costs and I fume.

It's an intrinsic part of my life and has become more so as I've grown older. It's not always the most important thing happening in my life but is ALWAYS one of the most important.

Now FFS Blues you best smash Arsenal next week...

I've seen us play a lot worse than today and win games. Surprised at some of the negativity.
The negativity is because we've been here in so many matches before. No way should we be getting pulled back twice by a side as poor as Leicester. We provided their two assists FFS!

It seems that we need to go two ahead to retain our confidence for the full 90. One goal leads always see us playing deeper and deeper in the secondhalf and playing squarer and squarer. We slow down. In doing so we get more and more careless in our passing.

RM needs to react quicker whenever this starts to happen. He had a bench capable of changing things but he didn't use what he had.

Even at 2-1 I kept thinking about Norwich last season, Blackpool away and Bolton away when Gascoigne dropped his shorts. I just knew we would end up dropping 2 points and that really grates. Some things just never change and these kind of results are what ultimately cost us our lofty ambitions. Especially when Arsenal and Spurs both found a way to nick a win from a poor performance at the death. Football, I love/hate it!

It was two mistakes. The difference between this game and the draw at Norwich last year was that today, we absolutely dominated Leicester. That's why I'm more optimistic. I went away from today wondering how on earth we didn't win the game. Yeah, that can be a negative, but it's also a positive, we created a lot and just need to finish off the chances. First game of the season, it's a marathon not a sprint. No need to be so mad about it, it's not like we got beat.

As for the options on the bench, let's look at that shall we:

- Coleman - just back from a hamstring injury, not played since July 22nd.
- Atsu - not played any pre-season games.
- Mirallas - not played any pre-season games, had 1 week of training like Lukaku.
- Besic - okay, decent idea to bring him on.
- Osman - the definitive Marmite player.

Alcaraz and Robles don't matter.

3 of the 5 viable subs (the 3 who'd arguably change the game) have had little to no pre-season training and/or games. That's why he never brought them on, not because he suddenly became a 'Negative Nelly' like Moyes used to be.

Things even themselves out though. I kind of know what you mean, but an opening day draw doesn't give you definitive proof of anything.

We will know more about where we are after the next 2 games.

I feel worse after these types of games than losing to a top side (aside from the RS of course). We'll get up for the big games but we just can't let these games slide ... yeah sure you will have one or two now and again (and optimistically you could say we just got one of ours in the first game) but it's these teams we need to beat (and dominate) more consistently to cement a top spot.

Not to mention we've been waiting months for this and then in space of 24 hours we found out Barkley was out and then pissed away two points ... so a bit of being down isn't unreasonable I guess.

I know what you mean though in general ... we're all a bit funny.
