Why do Sky hate us

TS talking about Everton next

Ive been listening to it for the last hr. Some of these sports journalists really do talk through their back sides. Half of them think their own views are like the holy grail and mostly i want to throw my remote at them. I dont know why i put myself through it. COYB

...Sky is a business and they pamper to the ratings. The Reds and United pull in global audiences, we don't.
Eggxactly. Whether people like to hear it or not, we simply do not offer the same appeal to the neutral fan or those looking for another allegiance.

More people will chose to watch the likes of Manure, Chelsea, Liverpool et al. so obviously that's where there attentions will realistically lie.

We get a decent amount of attention and praise on Talksport ironically.

When Sky bought it, the first few weeks were just dreadful on some shows, as it was obvious they had been told to Skytastic the place. Jim White was the worst culprit.

But now, its settled back into shape a bit. Its almost like the producers and that have actively railed against the approach. The top clubs still get a lot of coverage, obvs, but Jim White has calmed right down, and actually has long segments about Charlton, Blackpool, tons of other clubs.

Plus Bob Mills flys the flag for lower league clubs too as an Orient Supporter and division 2.

I'm guessing a lot of it to is to do with advertising revenue.

More people stay tuned in / watching if the media darlings are constantly talked about / on, so more people watch / listen to the ads ?

I only watch sky when I get home if we win, and then on my Kodi so it's free, so up yours Murdoch.

Of the 3, BT are the worst, then the BBC, then Sky for being RS.

They don't hate us, neither does the rest of the media world.

They focus on teams who attract the most interest from viewers, they will have the stats available to them and they will adjust their programming so the teams who are most attractive to their viewers get the maximum amount of coverage.

Pretty obvious and basic stuff. There are no agendas, just paranoid fans.

Sky/BT is a ppv service, it has nothing to do with ratings or viewing figures.
They have an Agenda as with all their programming. The politics of Everton, something we as fans and the club hold very dear, is not something they would ever promote. If, in the future, we sell our souls to the devil as the RS have done, things will be very different.

I feel like it's very, very unlikely that this is accurate. The "ratings" thing seems much more reasonable.

Jeff Stelling gets excited when Walsall score. Proper football fan. There are a few of them. Colin Murray was one, shame he left TS. I like Hawskby and Jacobs too. Paul Hawskby has a soft spot for us.

Sky has one function, to make money. It is not there to report or to inform, it is a purely commercial entity. It "likes" the popular because that is where the money is.
When we are successful and start to attract a greater media interest we will be the darlings of Sky.

Very rarely mentioned

often overlooked

Why are we hated by the press and Sky

They don't hate us. They're a business and focussing on massive teams with huge worldwide support will make them a lot more money than focussing on a team that hasn't done very much for a long time.

There's no conspiracy, no agenda, it's just about money.

Some unbelievably precious whining in here. Sky made a big fuss when we finished 4th over Moyes - pink cardie champagne interview and all that. And depending who's in the top 5 or 6 they're always going to point out where the likes of Man U or RS are due to the size of the clubs. Like it or not their underachievement is a story.

I can guarantee that Klippety and the marketing people there would like nothing more than for their current struggles to be brushed under the carpet and ignored by the media.
