Why aren't English clubs after American talent?

Great players are coming through the German clubs such as Hoppe, Reyna, Adams, Sargent and clubs like Monchengladbach, Wolfsburg all signed new American players from the MLS this transfer window. Recently, Schalke sold Mckennie to Juventus, and he is one of their best midfielders this season. RB Salzburg and Barcelona have all signed Americans recently as well. Plus, now AS Roma are likely to sign Bryan Richards from FC Dallas.

-Bobby Convey was better than these players at a young age. Broken leg, never the same.

-Demarcus Beasley was a better player. Was a very good starter on a club that should have went to Instabul for the C-league Final. Ace PSV manager Gus Hiddink turned into Dumpster Fire Koenman who took away his locker for no reason whatsoever and he was never the same.

-Altidore was better, signed w/ the wrong club at too early of an age, became a vagabond and settled into lots and lots money at Toronto.

-Bradley was a better player at 19, great in Holland and then few years later finally found something at Genoa and could have been legend on a mediocre Italian club. Chased the money to Roma, never fit in, and then got a raise from 1M/year to 5M/year at TFC which IMO was some sort of Canadian plot to ruin the US national team. He promptly "retired" and I can't really blame him.

-Harry Kane was not better than all of these players mentioned and picking splinters out of his bum while his championship teammates at LC were winning the playoffs. He is now on the short list of best strikers in the world.

Be pleasantly suprised if youth turns out, but put your money on it not really working out. No one knows what will happen.

I didn't list Pulisic in my initial list, but look at Pulisic at Chelsea. He's their best attacker. Players like Werner, Giroud, Ziyech, Havertz, Hudson-Odoi are all struggling and they are not getting regular playing time, and instead being rotated. Yet, Pulisic is constantly being played by Lampard, week in week out.

Dest is a regular starter for Barcelona. Mckennie is a regular starter for Juventus. Reyna is a regular starter for Dortmund. Adams is a regular starter for RB Leipzig (2nd best team in Germany). Hoppe is currently the best young striker in the Bundesliga after Haaland. This isn't the "golden generation", but the new norm of American soccer. Teams such as Juventus, Bayern, Barcelona, etc are now actively recruting Americans to their academies because American talent is seen very highly now, and even above the South American talent.

You could list all the past American players, but they did nothing substantial at club level in Europe, except the goalkeepers and Dempsey at Fulham/Spurs. This current generation? It's a different story.

Reyna, Dest, McKennie, and Adams were are on the pitch against Wales B team, they scored no goals. That doesn't mean they are junk or will never amount to anything. Just get back to me in 4-5 years.

Must say, I always enjoy your posts rook, be it politics or soccer! (that's a sincere comment, by the way).

They played that game without a striker tbf. Not that it is good to draw 0-0 like that but pretty easily explained.

I'm in between you and Emir. There's reason to be excited and the pipeline hasn't stopped flowing. Aaronson and Reynolds are two more in a continuing pattern. But it is also over the top to say we've made it when you've really not proven that much yet.

Can I just put to bed once and for all that Beckham has absolutely, definitely, categorically NOT hired Phil Neville because he's a mate of his.
Their friendship and business relationship going back years is definitely NOT a factor in his appointment; absolutely definitely NOT.
Remember the name, Inter Miami led by one of the Neville sisters. The champions of Brazil and Argentina must be quaking in their boots.

Pullisic was being spoken about as 'world class' last season...posters such as @TheBigIguana were saying how amazing he was -- hes not even as good as Lozano.

Hes just so overrated its bizarre...why? Hes American....was on the bench at his last club and will end up the same at chelsea.

How many starts does Hoppe have for Schalke? McKennie did stand out at Schalke but fair play to the Juventus scouts for seeing he could both adapt and step up to the league in italy + he wasnt just standing out in a poor team.

It must be nice and exciting to finally see a handful of players playing at big clubs but when you compare that to Brazil theres really no competition.

I think this is, as @Eggs Would say, a case of premature evaluation...
