Why are West Ham obsessed with us?

Why wouldn't Byram go to west ham over us?. Similar sized clubs yes, however he's from the area so bound to chose them. Plus the fact west ham will be bigger than us in a couple of years makes sense for him. it's no coincidence ogbonna chose them over us too. They are on the up. They are buying Gignic now too :(

Yep while we get left behind in our stadium and investment plans.

West Ham obsessed? Byram is a young English footballer who was playing very well in the lower leagues and had a contract expiring in the summer. I'm pretty sure there were more clubs than Everton and West Ham toying with the idea for a good while now.

Most were willing to wait, Everton forced the hand, West Ham decided to go for it. He's an Essex boy who can move closer to home and get regular 1st team football at West Ham. Add to that a forthcoming Euros, which with a bit of luck and a scattering of injuries it's not inconceivable he could play himself into contention for, and then 2 years of WC qualifiers then it's a no brainer so best of luck to him. A young English player getting regular 1st team Premier League football.

Though I would be delighted if he got turned inside out and tore a new one when he next plays at Goodison - as I would any opposition fullback.

oh mate, calling West Ham a bigger club oh you've so riled people here. Oh so worked up. Fuming here. How could someone who is definitely, no questions about it, an Everton fan say that? So angry.

I agree, West Ham is a good stepping stone club for him. Maybe in a few years when Coleman moves on he'll look to Everton for a step up.

Byram was still in nappies and may well have yet to utter his first word the last time Everton won anything. The first time he kicked a ball Everton were relegation strugglers involved in last day great escapes and during his teenage years just another upper to mid-table side.

Yes - West Ham were worse for much of that time but now they're above Everton, nice shiny new ground which the chairman claims will be full all next season. If it were me it'd always be Everton but it's not - the sad truth is that to the neutral we are not a step up from West Ham.
