IMO all comes down to team selection and today is no different.

Not sure you have too much there. Four of the six loses came against Arsenal and ManU, and I think if you go look at the final league table you'll find that those teams probably should've beaten us no matter if it's the first match or the 30th. Arsenal at Goodison in 2004 being a possible exception, but they beat us 7-0 at Highbury later that season, so they obviously had our number.
