WHU Bid for Yak

Yak is the most creative striker we have in our team. It will be a mistake to sell for anything less than 10m.

I wouldn't necessarily agree. When Saha is getting after it, he's world class and on a different level.

Not discounting Yak but Saha is a better striker. I agree that anything less than 10 million is a joke.

Very curious about the fee that the Hammers would offer. Didn't they have some bids turned down earlier this summer? That was up to £7m if i remember rightly, so we gotta be talking £8m, £9m, maybe even £10m now?!

Like someone pointed out earlier, Saha is more of an individualistic brilliance. If we are to compare creativity, Yak is better. Their style is different, both will provide something we do not have at bench level.

Saha is better at scoring goals out of nothing, so in that way he is 'creative'. He can score a goal with either foot from any distance or angle. But in terms of creating for others and contributing to the team Yak comes out on top all day long. He's a great passer with either foot, good with his back to goal and is very intelligent. Saha is very technical, but in deeper areas he has a tendency to hold onto the ball for too long and make the wrong decision.

As for Crouch, I think he's very capable but I wouldn't want to see him here, his size would give defenders the easy option to hoof the ball forward, even if he is far better with his feet, I don't want to see that happen, and his lack of mobility just wouldn't fit in here, we are already a slow team as it is, and he has little to no athleticism.

I think the best bet would be going for a versatile forward if Yakubu leaves, someone who can play wide and fill in upfront when needed. Maybe Remy is the man, I haven't seen anything of him to be honest, but from what I've heard, he fits the bill. I think Brownie's right though, if Yakubu does leave I can't see Pienaar sticking around, best mates and all that.

No way do i want Crouch, he's crap, yes he gets goals but all he does is fall over, he's crap on the ball too. If the Yak does go, we should go get someone who has flair and scores goals (obviously lol) I don't know who, not sure on the french guy....whats his name Remy. (Never heard of the dude) I'd just want a Moyesie suprise, he has a good nak of finding talent our Moysie.

But TBH i'm not bothered if the Yak stays, as long as he is fit! and raring to go, i'm sure if he gets his games he will bang in the goals! Never forget the record he's got, he's Proven and with our fully fit squad he can only get better, Funk it Yak to stay i reckon.
"FEED THE YAK 'N' HE'LL SCORE!!"

You said it best.
The easiest way to spot the difference between them is what they do when the ball is pass to them. Saha tends to trap, hold and pass back to space even when the situation is ideal for counter attack. Yak tends to trap, turn, out muscle or outrun his opponent. In other words he's more direct and more suitable for counter attacking options. He also has the tendency to capitalize on the situation move the ball up field more effectively/quickly either by himself or spotting runs of team mates more often than Saha does.

Personally think it will be a mistake selling the Yak. Hope we do have an replacement lined up if he does leave though. Not happy with a forward line of Vaughan (injury prone and unproven), Saha (injury prone and half fit) and Beckford (unproven). If Yakubu leaves, we definitely need a new striker coming in.

A fully healthy yak, IMO, is better then Saha. At least for the team. We have a lot of midfielders who can put the ball in the net. So I think he works perfectly, especially if he comes in off the bench. So losing himself gonna be tough.

Stupid iPhones. I meant to agree with this too.

If he sells him, i hope it's for close to what we paid, plus i hope he has a striker waiting to come in.
