WHU Bid for Yak

I disagree mate, everytime he started and Saha came on we looked better. The Yak is as strong as an ox and can hold defenders off better but Saha has better distribution.

I dont agree with that. They're both different types of strikers. Yak's hold up play is superb and he brings the midfield in. Saha took an age to adjust to being the loan striker. Almost all of Saha's goals were created by himself where as the Yak thrieves on delivery. And while Saha tends to try and beat 3 players, Yak always looks for the pass and floats into the box.

There's a reason why Saha didnt score at the back end of the season. He rarely scores tap ins cos he's never in and around the box for them. The Yak is your man for that.

He adds to the strike force. Beckford is untested and looks like a poor man's Saha. Saha is an all rounder and creates his own chances (and 32). Yak holds up play when the backs against the wall and brings the team into play...and is a boss lazy slotter.

I dont feel he's been given a chance since coming back from injury.

I wouldn't be to fussed if Yak goes, he's looked lazy last season and he just seemed to give up on chasing players.

I would prefer someone like crouch for his areial ability or someone pacey who will atcually bother to chase defenders (like Johnson did)

Who rarely scored before he was sold?

Nice one.

And we've got arieal ability in Fellaini and Cahill.

And Yak's stat's are decent to stay he was back from injury and making sub appearences -

League
Started - 9
As Sub - 16
Goals - 5
Assists - 4

As said before mixed feelings about Crouch but on balance I would say NO. As for Yak suppose it depends on the size of the offer. Can understand the points made in his favour and not. But I do think in many ways he was lurching into the way he played in the latter part of the season with Boro before we signed him.

Yeah but Crouch can score regularly with his head and will scare all teams with his height, Cahill last season was poor for the early stages, he did excellent in the last part but we need someone there if he fails.

and for goals as a striker we've got Saha, but I would prefer to get someone younger and pacey to run after the oppositions defensive line especially if Pienaar goes, Vaughan chases after them but we never use him (mainly cuz of his injuries).

Cahill was playing all over the shop last season, not his fault he didnt chip in with his fair share of goals, you may have noticed there was a slight injury crisis at the start of last season.

I'd be sad to see the Yak go but football is business and if it funds a Donovan acquisition I'd learn to live with it.

Will be interesting to see who Moyes goes for if Yak does leave. Might spell the end of our African contingent, which would be a shame.

King Louis is fragile and Moyes knows this hence his hesitation in putting Saha in the starting XI every time out.

Nothing would irritate me more than having to root for Crouch. He's [Poor language removed] in most aspects.

He's been all over. If he was so ace, why so many clubs?

1998–2000 Tottenham Hotspur 0 (0)
2000 → Dulwich Hamlet (loan) 6 (1)
2000 → IFK Hässleholm (loan) 8 (3)
2000–2001 Queens Park Rangers 42 (10)
2001–2002 Portsmouth 37 (18)
2002–2004 Aston Villa 37 (6)
2003 → Norwich City (loan) 15 (4)
2004–2005 Southampton 27 (12)
2005–2008 Liverpool 85 (22)
2008–2009 Portsmouth 38 (11)
2009– Tottenham Hotspur 38 (8)

I count 9 different clubs in 11 years.

I think I'd be sad to see him go. Who'd we feed if the yak leaves :(

But moyes could go a hundred different ways with the money. So it all depends what happens.

Regardless, I'd cheer the yak wherever he plays, be it with us or west ham.
