Who's this Delph bloke?

Bradford-born Fabian is a product of the club's Academy system.
He made his debut as an 18-year-old when he came on as substitute against Derby County at Pride Park on the last day of the 2006-2007 campaign.
Last season, however, his first team experiences were limited to two substitute outings - at Portsmouth in the Carling Cup and at home to Gillingham in the final game of the League One campaign. He was an unused substitute for the cup game at Macclesfield.
A midfielder, Fabian has pace and good ball control and after representing England under-19s during the summer of 2008 he joined up with Gary McAllister's first team squad for the final weeks of pre-season.
He impressed against Barnet and was handed his first start of the season in the 5-2 Carling Cup win at Chester City. Fab quickly established himself as a member of McAllister's squad and, despite attracting enquiries from a number of Premiership clubs, the youngster signed a four-year contract with the club in September 2008.
He celebrated his new contract by scoring his first goal for the club the following day against Crewe at Elland Road, and he collected his third Man of the Match award in four games.
The youngster's development continued at a pace and he won his first England under-21 cap against the Czech Republic at Bramall Lane in November. He was also named the PFA League One Player of the Month for November.

In a nutshell. 10 million. They must be having a laugh. I think they have forgotten what league they are in. He has only had 1 call up at U21 level. I think I will pass for the time being on that price.

Me driving instructor was a die hard Leeds fan and told me about him. He's Leeds United's best player with Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal all looking to sign him all through this season. He's a creative midfielder I believe, is tidy and comfy on the ball, very accomplished for an 18 year old. He's english too.

Problem is Ken Bates wants to get a arse load of cash for him. £6mill+ for the lad who promises to be the next big thing.

The 10mill touted isnt a surprise considering Bates. But the reason this figure is high for the young lad is because you're paying for potential. If the pudits are to be believed he's going to be worth twice that and be one of the best english players in the game. If they dont get promotion he'll be gone.

Wouldnt chance it really when we've got 5 young english lads with potential to be the same.

I thought we had a strong intrest in the lad untill that article in the Mail, if it says one thing in that paper beleive the exact opposite.

Anyway lets sign everyone! Hurragh!

Don't think he's worth £10 million, but at his age you are buying potential and not what exists in the here and now.

He reminds me of Pienaar with the low centre of gravity and tremendous balance. He will prove similarly troublesome to anyone having to defend him. He makes sound decisions from the central midfield and has shown a knack for scoring from long range.

There is a caveat emptor aspect to this: he's been involved in a drink driving incident. If Everton are willing to pay the price for him, then they'll need to perform due diligence to assure the player is mature enough to take the next step. Another error like that, and a Lee Hughes-level accident, will see the £10 million go down the drain.

I work with a season ticket holder at Leeds, and even he has said, if they get more than 4 mill for him then he will be happy. Quality player, but Beckford is worth 10 mill, Delph is only half the player he is.

On that note, Moyes, transfer window coming up, time for you to take my advice again.

SIGN BECKFORD ASAP

I was thinking that myself mon capitain second consecutive season hes done well. To be fair its a big jump from league one even to the championship for strikers, im thinking Sharp, Eastwood, McCleod and Parkin who were all ace in that division yet never did it in the Championship, similarly with Matty Frytt he did well in that leauge this season but wasn't great in the Championship last, although ive always been a fan. I think being a striker is harder to go through the divisions then being a midfeilder or a defender.

But in Gaz we trust. (y)

Neiler, I sit on his left, you have his right, between us we are the angels of heaven and hell.

For me Beckford is no better than some of the other lower league strikers who would or have failed to make it in the prem.
Freddie Eastwood, Dave Nugent, Earnshaw etc.
I don't think he has any characteristics that would allow him to excell in the prem. With good defenders and good goalkeepers I think he could be handled quite easlily.

Delph looks good though, defo worth 4-5 million but anything above is too much of a gamble.
