This had better be some Donovan other than that Landon drip...he's fit for the MLS and nothing more.

If we're trolling in the US, I'd rather see that Beckerman kid (the one with the dreds) get a shot - he settles in the midfield and distributes the ball. Donovan's only good for the counter and most of the time, he runs away from his mates (or they're too slow) and finds himself 1 v 5 and gives up the ball. Don't get excited about his goal against Spain in the Confed Cup - any attacking player worth his mud would have slotted that home.

After Bayern cancelled the loan deal I wrote he was pretty good there despite being platooned at center forward?? and RW?? when his natural position is LM. He probably should have had a couple goals as well and was robbed by the keeper on a couple instances and they'll regret not signing him (and they way they are starting they could use him).

Should I also forget his goal against Brasil and his pass against Mexico that he made 2 weeks ago that was as good as any of Arteta's best passes (which he made that pass while having swine flu)?

Here's prob the best article on Donovan's change from softie in 2006 to today. He's been a decent leader too (witness Beckham's play and effort on the Galaxy now). What sucks is that we probably couldn't get him anymore.
