Ct jr.

Player Valuation: £8m
I am not a mod, but i saw TX bill's post and figured why not. vote for who you would rather see in net for us.

No Offence, but, dont be so ridiculous!wessels has had 2 games, and in total made about 6 saves, from minor shots, maybe one good shot yesterday. Not once did i hear him shouting at the defence to get it sorted.

Tim Howard has been great for this club so far, and imo will go on to be the best everton goalkeeper. He does everything, great shot stopper, great kick, throw and he will SCREAM at the defence to get into position or who to mark. He also tries his best as he corrected his mistakes at the begginging of last season by learning how to position himself on freekicks and set pieces. Howard for usa.

No i am a complete 100% Howard fan. This was brought up in another thread so i figured may as well see.

Howard.

Give credit to Moyes though for bringing in someone who looks like more than just a capable backup. If Howard goes down for any extended period of time or suffers a loss of form, we are in better shape in the number two position than we've been in for a long long time.

last season howard got us alot of points he saved us in the following matches:

Both Derbys
Arsenal Away
West Ham at Home
Chelsea Away
and then theres the saves that he makes in eveyr other match too...

i would rate him one of the best everton keepers atm, behind southall...and probably top 5 keepers in the premiership

Howard. I think he's currently one of the 10 best keepers in the world because I can't name 10 that are better.

I think Wessels has done very well since coming in and on that principle alone he should keep the jersey. Imagine if Steve McClaren dropped Gareth Barry for one of the big names, merely because they're a big name. There would be uproar. People in the shirt have posession and if they perform then they should keep their place.

For me this isn't a case of who may be the best overall because it doesn't really work like that. It's more a case of who is best at any given moment in time and for me that is Wessels. I'm sure you always tell reserve players to wait their chance and when they get one to take it. Well he's taken it and has done nothing to deserve being dropped.

Lots of games over the next week so space for them both to get a start.

Wessels has played well enough for us not to need to rush howard back - but howard gets my nod based on being a known quantity. Main thing is its good to have two genuine contenders for the spot.

When they are both fit and healthy then Howard would be my number one at this point in time. If TH has a bad run of form or another injury, then the last couple of games has given me a bit of confidence that Wessels can come in and do a good job, at this moment I think Wessels is infinately better than Turner, Ruddy etc etc.

Nor has he done anything to warrant dropping Howard. He's been decent, no doubt about it. But I'm sure Moyes won't mess around and once Howard is fit, he's back in.
