Dave Watson according to that. But he didn't play in that game, and the lineup according to Toffeeweb doesn't record who the captain was. So I couldn't tell you

My old fella who still has his season ticket first skipper was Peter Farrell!!

Same as me 1948, Peter Farrell versus Arsenal-although later on that year, the next season, I think Alec Stevenson was captain in the Derby game when we had our record attendance of over 78,000.
