Alan Ball in the 8-0 win against Southampton, scored his final goal for us. Must admit the memory is a bit hazy, it was freezing but remember this :

Mate!!! I was covering you last time he did it
I have only ever bunked in once in my life allez and there were extenuating circumstances,Norwich 1987,wasn’t even an all ticket game can you believe?got info from a steward the turnstile we were queuing at was going to close, well I wasn’t going all that way to miss out on us winning the league, panic set in and with a hop skip and a jump of Olympian proportions I was over the gate, legged it in,two slight problems my white chinos were ripped at the knees as were both my knees which were leaking that horrendous colour of that shower across the park, any how to cut a long story short it was chocka inside and I had to negotiate a floodlight for a vantage point, not great as I don’t particularly like heights, and being thirty foot up I couldn’t celebrate Paddy Vans goal or the final whistle with too much gusto, the saddest part of this tale was when I got back to the car my two mates were grinning like Cheshire cats at me,i apparently had “jumped the gun”in panic, the turnstile didn’t close and they had watched us secure the title from a relatively good spec,oh well as I wasn’t driving home,I had a good few cans which soothed my aching knees, and I’d do it all again even now if it meant us winning the league, only problem,I wouldn’t get over that turnstile now lol lol lol
