Leighton Baines has revealed why he handed over Everton’s penalty taking duties to Romelu Lukaku. The Blues full-back says it is vital the £28m striker scores as many goals as possible so offered Lukaku the chance to become the regular man from the spot. I love Rom and have defended him every step of the way on here. But..
I don't think he should be our penalty taker until he learns how to take one. Baines is fantastic at them, Rom every time looks uncomfortable, undecided and always does a daft run up...keepers watch a players hips. By slowing and stopping you've giving the keeper a better chance of saving it.
Maybe in the future he'll be blasting them in, but for now i don't think he should be taking crucial ones, only if we're 3 up etc
