Arteta missed 3 in game penalties 1 in the League, 1 in the League Cup and 1 in Europe. Ironically Baines scored 1 in the League game against Wigan where Arteta missed.

Baines

But I don't really care as long as they figure it out before stepping onto the pitch

None of this "feeling confident" bollocks and arguing over the ball

You're going to have to work harder at the humour if you're so desperate to be funny. Hows the stand up going? Still doing 20 minutes for a couple of drinks?;)

It's ludicrous that this is even being discussed. Baines has to take penalty's. He's missed one in his career....and even at that, he's scored 2 since then!

But the debate is whether or not Baines wants to continue taking them.

A lot of us think he may have stepped down from the role.

As ever, the club do bugger all to clarify what is going on hence the shambles against Baggies and the confusion last Saturday.

Simple thing I would like to know.

Was Baines taken off penalty duty in favour of Lukaku and Barkley?

Or did he give the job up himself.

As someone who spends a lot of dosh supporting the club every season I don't think I am being unreasonable in expecting to know the pecking order when the ref points to the spot :(

I dont think an employee should be given the choice to "step down" from anything in their job! I don't get the choice! Give him a kick up the arse and make him take them. There's no better penalty taker in the PL. Altho I do think Martinez wants Lukaku to take them now to get his goal stats up. But he missed I think the only one he ever took for Chelsea in the Super Cup in his last game for them too. Nobody is a safe bet!

Genuinely cannot believe this. Do you also expect to know the line-up before you leave? Maybe what instructions have been given to players when marking the opposition?

I don't think the players are thinking, well i've not seen it on the official site, so how do I know if I'm supposed to be taking the pens?
