Who should play against Hull ?

Good except switch Besic and barkley and put the latter as an AM. Also, if we can't put Etoo or Naismith on the wing, neither can Kone.

Kone is quite comfortable playing wide. I'd like to see him playing as somewhat of a left forward, giving Lukaku some support.

Unlike Eto'o and Naismith he is very quick and can beat a man. Obviously it's not ideal and I hope we sign another winger next month, but I think Kone has more to offer than McGeady, even slightly out of position.

From before we signed him: "His style, principally to receive in wide areas, get the ball quickly out of his feet and drive at defenders inside, is distinctive and he made the 4th most dribbles of any forward in the league in 12/13. His ability to beat his man is better statistically than any of our current crop, and even better than our top dribbler Mirallas; the Ivorian made more take on’s than KM and boasted a higher success rate to the tune of 51% v 44%."

Physio room has Howard, Stones, Jags, Hibbert, Osman, McCarthy, Gibson all out for Hull.

Assuming that is true would keep the same partnership of Alcaraz/Distin so Robles has a chance of building up some rapport with his defenders despite not wanting Distin to play that many games in such a short period of time.

Robles
Coleman Alcaraz Distin Baines
Barkley Besic
Mirallas Naismith Pienaar
Lukaku

Assuming nobody breaks down midgame subs of Kone for Lukaku and McGeady & Oviedo for the wingers. Was impressed by Kone today but doubt he'd be able to handle two starts after such a long layoff.

If all those players are out then I think that would be the best team too, and agree with the reasoning for Kone not starting.

You just know Barry will start somewhere though.

I'd go with that 11 too I guess. Looks like the bench will be quite youthful.

If Stones, McCarthy and Besic play then I think we'll win. These are the types of players we need to have out there at the moment, the kind who will fight and show some passion.
