I think the key thing here is that we've been on the end of two key game changing refereeing decisions that have caused, instantaneously, our confidence to collapse in both games. We saw how well it started in the Newcastle game, we've just got to keep our heads up and get a result and like Roberto I think Hull away tomorrow is the perfect opportunity to do that. Just keep the faith.
As for the lineup I have no idea what kind of patchwork is required to plug the gaps injuries are causing, but from looking at the available players I think we might unfortunately see Naismith or Barkley out wide. I think our best chance of not seeing that happen is to have Garbutt in and Baines and Mirallas on the flanks. We could even see all four of Eto'o, Lukaku, Barkley and Naismith in the starting 11, and we haven't really found a recipe as yet to accommodate all four without putting square pegs in round holes so to speak. Anyway if all players make it, I'd go with:
Robles
Coleman Stones Jags Garbutt
McCarthy Barry
Mirallas Naismith Baines
Lukaku
I'm always 50/50 on McGeady because he usually gives us a 7/10 or a 3/10 and I just don't think he should be used from the start. Barkley could play the deeper role if McCarthy doesn't make it. Distin and/or Alcaraz to step in for Stones/Jags. No point overloading Kone too soon, but I'm just not sure on the manager's thinking right now so as an alternative prediction I'll go:
Robles
Coleman Alcaraz Distin Baines
Barkley Barry
Mirallas Eto'o Naismith
Lukaku
If Mirallas doesn't play I don't think we'll have width.
