In the eighties we had a good bunch of outstanding players. Reid, Steven, Sharp, Southall and Sheedy.

Kanchelskis is up there also, and so is Lineker (banged over 30 goals).

My favourite is Sheedy, even though I don't rate him as the best of the bunch. But that left foot was sweeeeeet. :D

According to the Everton Results site. So it must be that Lyons never played on the winning side in a League Derby match.

I think thats right Dennis but the same lad would have run through a brick wall for the cause, great blue was Mick

Great sounding collection, LCAB.

My most prized possession is a World Cup Final ticket from 66 signed by Bally. My uncle Chris was in the crowd on England's finest day and was able to get the great mans signature after he signed for Everton that summer. Also got all the first team's sigs by me Grandar handing in my autograph book at Bellefield and then collecting it the following day - all signed up by Royle, Harvey, Husband, Humphreys etc I've even got Wilf-bloody-Dixon in there.
But the World cup one is the best...

Superb that , Treb' . Keep it in the family . They're proper gear them , kid .
I got Bally to sign loads of progs , pics , etc , but me piece de resistance , is a retro-yellow shirt which he signed to me , " with my very best wishes , " , and a white 66 shirt and a red 66 shirt ( replicas ) both signed by my hero . They'll have to prise them out of my cold , dead fingers .

Indeed, Monty. Mick Lyons was one of my favourite players in the 70's, along with Andy King, Duncan McKenzie, Bob Latchford & Dave Thomas.

Hi all, 1st post go easy ha. Who is or was the greatest Player to pull on the blue shirt well i started following EFC in 1983, and i have 2 say some of the saves big Nev pulled off in the championship year of 85 were superb, but 4 me it was down the right hand side of Gary Stevens and Trevor Steven. Garys goals and tricky trevs expert crossing. I go with Trevor Steven.
