Distin, how he doesn't have an international cap is beyond me. although I think Distin and Jags complement each other superbly.

Uncapped, eligible for citizenship. Why Roy didn't take him to Brazil over Cahill, I've no idea.

Jags atm. Distin a close second. Stones will be better than both but currently isn't as good as either. He will learn

Distin is number one for me but we are blessed with three great centre backs. And alcaraz.

You can only go on current form really (i.e the last season) and so I'd say Distin, by a decent margin.

Jags had some brilliant spells but dipped in form, though injuries obviously impacted that a lot. Stones was immense but still only played half of Distin's games. Alcaraz is clearly the best centre back in the world, but he holds back his ability to make the rest of them feel better.

But seriously, Distin was a man mountain last year. Jet heeled, the physique of a tank, helped Stones out no end as our only seniour CB for long stretches. He's a hunk.

Stones is maturing and still Jags is the best. Positively surprised by how Distin adopt Martinez new style. Still at his best. Alcaraz hasn't impressed me yet.

It amazes me that distin has never even had a call up to the france squad and instead they play that pile of s**t sakho pretty much every game alongside a top class young cb in varane (who could do with someone like distin next to him for the times he loses his head)

Couple of years ago i would have said jags was our best cb but distin has got better with age and hes by far our best at the moment imo, i would honestly say jags is only slightly better than stones now. Our best partnership this season just finished was when jags couldn't play and we played stones and distin because it was a perfect balance of someone who is technically brilliant and someone who's pace and strength are still one of the best in the league even at distin's age.

I don't think jags and stones are the ideal partnership either in fact i would think it would be a disaster, they are both similar players with stones being the better of the 2 with the ball at his feet but neither of them have blistering pace or strength to compliment each other in a partnership. I also don't think either of them would be comfortable on the left side of the pitch, you could tell jags didn't like it for england and the fact stones was played on the right when alcaraz had to play showed that martinez wants to keep him in the RCB slot. Stones for me will be jags replacement over the coming years which just means we need to find a replacement similar to distin like we did when he replaced lescott.

Probably because Cahill is the superior player.

And that's ignoring the fact that Distin is an actual human being with his own desires, and that he may not have wanted to play for England. Seeing as you know, he's French.

Why no Hibbo on the list?

He's played there .... and there's the added bonus of his new 2 year contract.

Stones will be as good as Matts Hummels within a few years but as of now, Distin for me

Honestly speaking, I'm still a huge fan of Distin. He just seems to get us out of jail so many times every match. I think he may be a player we truly miss when he does eventually retire.
