was just on the phone to royston but i had to go wash the pots and he couldn't hang around like said family problems or something but he was talking rather fast and his eyes looked funny

Thanks for the update but wrong thread for Roy Rumours, you should have just stalked out like a little kid and said nothing like. How's his missus anyway, have you shagged her yet?

TBN, next Everton manager, I'm off to bed, but I think we (and red wine at my end) have successfully turned t least part of the Everton forum into the ale house, I salute you and goodnight!

Interesting suggestion, he has potential. Do you know much about him? All wiki really says is he's had a couple of good seasons (and one gash season) with Schalke then Hannover 96. Hannover even made the Europa QF this season which I think is better than Moyes has done. How do his teams play? What's he like in the transfer market?

I think we need someone who's under the radar, who's had relative success. Obviously if they can find quality players on the cheap that'd be a massive bonus!

Aye, he's more successful than Moyes on a similar budget. Tho' the Premier League is recognised as a stronger league than the Bundesliga if you study the Champions League performances of its clubs the last 10 years. But if you study a league's strength based on its national team's performance than the Bundesliga is miles stronger than the Premiership.

Here's how I argued for Slomka in our suggestions thread, but I admit I don't know enough about his transfer policy. It's probably fair to say that Moyes is one of the best in Europe regarding that. But Slomka has proven he can evolve tactics, which is something Moyes famously struggles with.

My personal choice:

Mirko Slomka

He has a good record in Europe (quarters in Champions League, and semis in UEFA Cup) and has finished well in the Bundesliga (2nd and a couple of 4th's). He's at a good age (44) and has proven he can flexibly evolve tactics and playing-style.

He's also not a big-enough name that would render him unrealistic for us, and his current salary of €1m per year is far less than Moyes' €4m-odd.

I'm not sure if he would be up for the challenge of managing an under-achieving but historically big club in the Premiership, and I don't know how good his English is, but he gives off the impression he's bright so it can be assumed he can get by. He also seems quite the jolly chap

Who are your candidates?

Alex Ferguson, he's got a proven track record, can handle the big personalities well (like Drenthe), is Scottish, can work well on a tight budget

So the poll winner is the guy who is Liverpool's new manager...

...what can it mean?

Whatever...let's support Moyesie...if he finally cracks us a good first half of the season then we're winning the league.

well rogers could have been as good as moynes someday but he,l gone and runined that now 100% sure moynes will still be with us and rigers will be long gone from them!!!

Martinez.

Liked him from his Swansea project , at last someone had come along and exposed the cowardly wisdom that you can't transform a side by playing football.

Admired him for never giving up at Wigan, a club who in reality should never have lasted one season in the prem, never stroppy, intelligent with vision - a cut above the rest.

Telling the RS to feck off just adds to the allure - Rodgers and Lambert are the latest Owen Coyles.

Somehting about rodgers, he got swansea with the team that in essence was built by Martinez. Rodgers did a grand job with the swans this season but i'm unsure how he would have done this season if he'd stayed - second season syndrome and all that. i'm not sure hes that good. i prefer Martinez my self

Post May: Rodgers.

June 1st: YEYE WHATEVER HE IS A [Poor language removed] HE'S ONLY HAD ONE YEAR AT THIS LEVEL IT'S A JOKE REALLY.
