Well can't be arsed arguing with you over England. Supporting England is not like Supporting Everton. It's like following the English cricket team, or watching them play rugby. I have a sense of pride and I couldn't give two hoots what you or your PC non nationals think.

I'll never give up defending my nation.

Do you know what you can go to any nation in the world and they are all proud of where they come from. Apart from English people. Scared to be English.

Personally I think it's a trend, like girls being lesbians at Uni.

I spoke to some lads where I used to work, kopites they were, and they preferred Spain than England. It's pathetic. I asked why, and it's because they don't want their players getting injured playing for England, to which I pointed out that more Liverpool players play for Spain than England.

It's just a wealth of non-excuses, because they are following what the next person has said. Me, I prefer to keep a singular line of opinion rather than group it with what that lad over there thinks.

Suppose it all comes down to education, and not media hype, isolated incidents and trend following.
 

I dont get you, hardly anybody has said they dont like England the country, they just like the England National Football Team as much as you clearly do. We support Everton, most of us have no real interest in England the team.

We will watch if an Everton player plays and hope he plays well and doesnt get injured, thats about my level of interest these days.

I did used to care, buy the shirts, watch all the games, but that utter tit McClaren spoilt it for me.

You see you used to like England, but McClaren spoilt it for you. You see thats just a daft excuse mate. England currently are quality. 75% win record since McClaren left. That is the best record ever for an England side. 100% in competitive games.

Wool said in his first post that the right wing nazi thugs ruined it for him. Yeah they are scum, but we need to not get them confused with me. I am English and proud of it. I'm not proud of tits who like to sing songs about the IRA.

But they are the minority and every type of organisation/group has them. They get a platform. Everton have racists, Liverpool do. Man U do, they all do. That's just the fact of life in England.

But I'm interested in the conservation of what is beautiful about England. The heritage, the countryside, the wonders. And I love the feeling when England win just as much as when Everton win. Because I am English and I support Everton.

In all honesty it will probably be more Everton. But England is still very high on my pride level and always will be. I see nothing wrong with the national side to think otherwise.

But please tell me what it is you hate about the English side?
 
I dont hate them, they just dont interest me that much, I will watch the World Cup and I will support them, in a way, what I mean is I will want them to do well. They dont mean anywhere near as much to me as Everton do, but I suppose thats a given.

But I do like my country, as crazy as that seems, I am proud to be English. We have some of the best players in the World. Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Rio, they would walk into most teams in the world, but they always under perform, I realise Cappello is doing well, that pleases me.

Im sure when the World Cup is on I will get all excited and cheer the team on, if that makes me fickle, well im fickle, but when they lose, it wont hurt as much as it used to.

I dont know why, I just stopped caring under McClaren, even Sven near the end was a joke. Its hard to just start caring again.

I see where your coming from, but there are lots to be excited about. For me I've seen Everton win the league, the cup and in Europe. Never seen England win a trophy. So if I see that before I die and not another Everton title win, I will still die a happy man as I have seen it, and our experiences are what we live by.

I suppose also I was expecting the old chestnut about English players have high ego's and there not that good etc...

And I was all prepared to come back with a list of trophies and achievements by these lads, and that for Evertonians it's like jealousy and hypocricy because if Everton become successful, we will be exactly the same.

But you never and I didnt.
 
I hate the way we dilute our game to suit International Football. The Premiership is 1 of the fastest paced Leagues in the world. But when England play, they play to suit other teams styles. Clearly you cant tackle like you can in the prem, but you can hassle players, get in their faces and run at them with pace.

Ghost have I read that right ? You would rather see England win the world cup than Everton win the league before you die ?

No of course not.

But if I only see England win a trophy from now till I die I will still die happy because I have witnessed glory with Everton.
