Last five games of the season: Liverpool (a), Chelsea (h), Leicester (a), Brentford (h), Arsenal (a). I see a maximum of 7 points from that.
We're currently on 19 points (relegation form since 1 month into the season). If we add 5 points (guesstimation from those 5 games) to that we're on 24.
We've played 20 games, but let's say 25 if we take those final 5 into account and 24 points (relegation form).
We'll probably need 35-40 or so points for safety - so need around 15 points to almost guarantee safety in 13 games.
If we can win home games against Leeds, Wolves and Palace in those games I think we can stay up. If we slip up in more than 1 of them I think, genuinely, we're going down. Would you trust our players to instantly turn our home fortunes around?
I don't see us having the firepower, unless Alli really hits the ground running, to go away to good teams and turn them over, or beat City, United or Chelsea at home.
It's incredibly scary. Like with last season, how on earth could the players not muster up a single point in home games against West Ham, Watford, Brighton and Villa?
Regardless of Benitez, that's largely on the players and they will deserve a lot of the criticism if we do go down.
