Where we threw it away

The three big ones are Newcastle, Fulham and Norwich (at home). This is why every game counts; we knew this would come back to bite us long before today though.

On the other hand, I'm sure Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea will look back on similar games they threw away.

This.

The last minute goal by Sidwell still gnaws at me.

Every team can say this. The fact is we are still in the hunt with 5 games to go, that is all that matters, the games coming up not the ones already played.

The results against arsenal and chelsea at home annoy me, we only gained one point from both these games in which we could have won. I always think beating the teams you ultimately end up challenging is key.

Threw what away?

Were you really expecting Champions League at the start of the season?

I'm impressed we still have a chance with 5 games to go.

Threads like this are pointless. We had a goal disallowed here, if we had not had conceded here etc etc. lots of teams can say this. What if Tottenham had not conceded the 2 late goals at Goodison, what if Suarez goal at Goodison had stood. Its football boys, it happens. We are having a good season, it's not over yet let's just see what happens at the end of the season

That Newcastle game was really costly as it was the day Jelavic hit the post and he has not been the same player since that day.

threw what away? being 4th with 5 games still to play?
we've drawn too many, but that's why we can't anymore.
prepare yourselves for Moyes' greatest run- 5 wins on the trot- 15 points added at the end of the season.
then we'll look back and say, hmm, we could have drawn more'!!

Fulham (a), Newcastle (h), Reading(a) Norwich (h) (a), 12 points that should never have been lost. However, despite sky now only concentrating on spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal, if we win 4 out of 5 and draw the other we will achieve a Champions League place. It will take some going and my nerves are shot going into a game against Sunderland ffs.

3 points from a possible nine in October: draws with Wigan, QPR and the RS

6 from a possible fifteen in November: Losing to Reading, drawing with Norwich and Fulham

1 from nine in February: Draw with Villa, losses to Norwich and ManYoo

If we want to finish top four, we shouldn't be losing to teams such as Reading, or taking one point from the likes of Norwich over two games. Six extra points right now and we'd be third.

if couple weeks before season started someone had said that if enough key ref decisions would go for us, that jelavic would maintain top form all season and click the way he did at rangers with naismith, that we would sign experienced cover at defensive mid, that Gibson and jags stayed injury free, that barkey got a long run and settled in,that we stayed tight at back all season and fellaini, moyes committed their future to the club.. then maybe just maybe we would be in with a shout of fourth in the run in. clearly what went wrong was baines

Everyone drops points where they think they shouldnt.. thats football. Everyone can say " we threw it away at <insert names here> "
