... do the club involve the captain?

Just a random thought, I saw Phil Neville at the roundabout entering Halewood (just outside Finch Farm) Yesterday morning and it made me think.

I am not suggesting we are on the verge of signing someone, but it did make me wonder how exactly we would go about persuading a player to join.

Unless Neville is the subject of a transfer bid himself !

But i'd imagine that the club captain would play some role especially if the manager is away on holiday / business, so there may be something in it,who knows.

I expect all the players will have an input in some form, be it direct or indirect. After all personalities will play a part in any new signing and of course players will talk to each other, especially when meeting for internationals and so on.

I think you would be surprised how much players have an impact of moves, a lot of players, will sound out players they know at clubs, through either playing with them before, interational or youth internationaly, especially with the advent of mobile phones etc!

Dont nessecarily see the captain being in a privaleged position of selling the club to a player in negotiations, i can see players informaly contacting other players, to get say the unoffical word on what goes on at the club.

i think you'll find that it's because he's a model pro and goes in to continue training during his hols . either that or .....

b ) he's knobbing one of the girls in the canteen
c ) he cleans artetta's boots, to prove he is fit too
