What positions need strengthening still ?

Keeper! A number ten is more questionable now as Barkley has flourished in this role as of late, but depth of the squad is important.

Also, Ross could quite easily play a deeper role a Yarmolenko esq player in front. More options the better really.

I'd also like a striker as regardless of how good Rom has been and Kone has impressed, I'd like more versatility and depth in this area.

With Galloway, Garbutt and Browning as young options in defence then I'm less concerned about strengthening here than in say August

Yarmolenko in January - he's someone who will provide an option to all the front four positions, and is top quality - will give us massive insurance against any drop in form or injury to Kone, Lukaku, Deulofeu or Barkley, guy scores and provides assist in bucket-loads and another player providing a serious threat will just make the front 3 of Rom, Del and Ross even more lethal

Right back - hope to see Kenny take some big strides as well as Holgate this season if the chance arises so hopefully we don't see the need to bring anyone else in

Centre back - we are sorted there - once Baines is back then Galloway has shown now he can be trusted if needed in his natural position

Centre mid - all just you-tube nonsense but the Serbian kid we have been linked with looks promising and cheap - aside from that we have Besic who hopefully should be back soon - Cleverley who is back now and just needing fitness and Ledson who with luck will mature a lot from his loan spell and be able to provide another option i the centre.

In short, add Yarmolenko in January, hopefully try to target a genuine top quality goalie in the summer whose got his best years ahead of him (even if it takes the entire transfer budget) - Butland or the likes, then round it off with some more additions from abroad like Besic types or from lower leagues like we have been doing with Holgate, Galloway etc

Oh yeah and be on the lookout for any player like Deulofeu who has bags of quality and just needs a fresh start that can have a huge impact for us...

and get scouting Belgium for any top up and coming striker who can provide an option to be able to rest Lukaku - especially important if we are in Europe next season

All far easier said than done ofc, but really we are 2 maybe 3 quality players from having a team that could rival the mid 80's team, add Yarmolenko, Butland and find a long term answer to the Barry role and we could be watching something special take place over the next season or two

Playing around a bit with that term there mate!!

A keeper is a must. An absolute must. I have no clue who it could be though.

For all the Yarmolenko shouts, I just can't see it and refuse to get my hopes up.

Such a FIFA thread this... don't care about the first team anymore go buy some nice youth prospects for me to watch like this Grujic.

In all fairness I can't see anything happening in January but in the summer if no keeper comes in I'll wax my own head clean off. Right-back & striker cover, new left mid are all pretty obvious by now. Linked with too many Embolo's, El Ghazi's & whoever else has high FM potential these days to take any rumours seriously. Would take Von Rlaar if he can stay fit as back-up and to teach the kids how to dominate from set pieces since our other defenders can't.

Yarmolenko is my new Tadic though mate, the one i banged on about for ages before and know i will be kicking myself if he goes elsewhere - IF we get him eventually though is massively different to me hoping we do lol - still got the Moutinho scars myself...

As for a keeper - not gonna act like i have much clue on any outside the Premiership, would take Butland in a heartbeat though but much like the new TV cash has enabled us to not sell - can see the exact same thing from Stokes perspective, why on earth would they when they have no need to do so, would take Begovic even though he hasn't had the best of seasons so far, still young at 28 clear backup when Courtois is back fit again and much more likely for us to be able to get him as he hasn't exactly impressed for Chelsea this year

and hey it was a short post considering some of the endless waffle i can and do spout at times ;p

I was just thinking, right, you know how his agent/representative/best mate uploads pics of him at Goodison to Instagram and we all go nuts thinking it's Yarmalenk-on? Is it not possible this guy simply is uploading a picture like we'd upload a new profile picture on Facebook?

Dude could just think he looks good in the pic and wants a new profile pic. It's Yarmalenk-off lads.

End of the day mate, he's an agent and every time he does something with uploading anything to do with him being at Everton it hits the papers and websites - for him it's brilliant PR work from just doing one click with a picture, looks like a retard with a bucket haircut but a smart bloke who understands social media he is

whats your logic behind this?

Just based on precedent. When we loan youngsters below the Championship they tend never to make the breakthrough to our first team. The ones that are good enough for the Championship (Coleman, Barkley, Osman before them) have been the ones to do something when they get back.

Hopefully Henen proves me wrong, like.

Yarmolenko in January and Cillessen next summer.

Sell McGeady in January. Keep Gibson and release Hibbert, Osman and Pienaar as their contracts expire. I am not sure about Oviedo will he stay or go?

All of those players are pre-Martinez and we quite clearly have a different ideology in regards to training up the youth players now compared to under Moyes. Ledson is currently playing in League 2 and there's a very good chance he'll make it into the first team.

Aye, especially in the January transfer window which is a period where Martinez has publicly said he doesn't like to deal due to inflated prices.

Then there's the fact Kiev may qualify for the latter stages of the Champions League. Also, don't forget this is Everton we're talking about.

It's paper talk... after the furore in the summer I will not accept that he'll ever be here until I see him warming up in front of the Street End.

osman was loaned below the championship first of all, same as garbutt and then worked their way higher up. the same will happen henen, ledson etc
