Most Sunday mornings I have to get up and Google the results of the Saturdays game.
One time on the way back from villa I was singing 1 - 0... It was at half time, I totally blanked out the 2nd half which finished 2 - 2, I was slammed by a barrage of cans and sit down you t*** jeers...

I remember stuff from the 60’s - 80’s. Since we’ve been comparatively good I can’t remember anything. It’s like my brain is trying to reject it.
Can replay virtually the whole of a 2-5 defeat at Grimsby in 2002 though.:dodgy:

Reading this forum, I'm often astounded by the knowledge of distant and recent history by a lot of you. I regard myself as quite a fanatical follower of my fave football clubs.

Visiting Everton occasionally, but travelling all over the country, for more than 30 years, seldom missing a match of my local team, Fortuna Sittard.

However, questioning me over matches, be it recent or way back in history, will probably leave you with a lot of un-answered questions though.

Quite a few, also see that with my friends, like to analyze every moment of every match, love statistics and keep up with everything that happens on the pitch during a match.

Myself, I'm more of enjoying the travelling/home games build up, having a pint, the pre/after match banter and a good laugh during the match. I often come home, watching the highlights, and thinking to myself, when did this happen/must have missed that. So how would you lot (match going or watching from afar) describe yourself?

Some people have an encyclopedic memory of events, but I'm more like you and that's never something I can do. What I remember from my time inside Goodison was the feeling, the chatter in the stands, looking out North at the neighborhoods from my seat in the stands, and Eden Dzeko laying on the pitch for what felt like 9 minutes with a "shoulder injury." The match itself was bit of a blur, but quite enjoyable.

I like the ambiance of matchday at Camp Nou - there’s a palpable energy and you walk through town with a permanent smile etched on your face. Taking the metro filled with fans where the vibe is always positive, warm & energetic

I’m low key in general so not a fanatical fan, passionate but not a nutter. Stats are interesting/useful to a point but I like the feeling the play can evoke from watching which stats can never reflect

Case in point, when Sergi Roberto scored the winning goal against PSG a few years ago in the remontada I was silent - mostly because I was nearly shaking in disbelief

Most emotional I have gotten was Rivaldo’s hat trick to qualify for CL 2 decades ago against Los Che - I was in an ESPNZone in Chicago with very few patrons mid day. Super emotional but no one to really celebrate with :D

I don't enjoy the actual football as much as I used to. It might have something to do with only watching on television, but I think it's more than that.
I was a regular at Goodison Park and often went to Anfield - because we were away before you ask - from the early 1950s until late
1960.
Since then I travelled everywhere in the 1970/1 and a bit of 71/72 watching football while on a working holiday in Britain, and not just Everton, because I loved the game. My last live match was Everton v Watford in 2006.
Now, I'm more interested in the result than the football I wonder if it's because of all the sideways and backwards passing.

I'm very quick to boo. The slightest thing sets me off. Crap throw-ins, corners, free kicks over the bar, feigning injuries, backpasses......
Football hasn't improved. It's got worse.

Not Everton related, but also had the highly amusing experience of attending Molinueux with Wolves supporting family one boxing day a decade or so ago. They played City. Craig Bellamy got it all game. All four sides of the ground chanting "[Poor language removed] [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed]" each time he got the ball is a sound to behold. Can't recall the score. 3-1 poss?
The backstory to this was a few years earlier Bellamy on the losing Newcastle side to first division Wolves in the cup, pointed to the premiership bade on his shirt and mouthed "Premiership" to the wolves fans as he walked off.

Yeah, there's also tension there due to Bellamy getting quite badly injured playing for Norwich against wolves by Kevin Muscatt. Wolves fans had taken to goading him about it by chanting muscat name. No love lost on both sides.

Tell you what, it just fired Bellamy up. He tore them apart lol.
