What is up with Dele Alli?

If he's doing okay in training. I'd give him a contract if we could do a reasonable wage structure, fitting for a 2nd or 3rd choice player. If he does really well, maybe add in some different clauses to allow us to resign him to a not-insane weekly wage.

Free-agent sign-on fees are wild, and we could use some depth in the middle if he's deemed decent and he's up for it.

Is it possible he's just gone? There's no sign of him in the background of training images or anything. He's not a player under contract so we wouldn't necessarily expect an announcement that he wasn't being offered one. May well be that he's finished all the recovery work he can do at FF, we don't think he's ready for a PL contract, and that's that.

I think he's called it a day. the failed loan at Besiktas was probably the end.

He's definitely been at FF over the summer putting the work in to get fit so he must have some sort of appetite left to play, that doesn't mean he's going to be capable of PL football or that we should give him a contract but I hope that if not he has some sort of career somewhere.

I know he has, I just think he's calling it a day on trying to play for the top level, letting him use the facilities is of course a great gesture for him to get fit but I just have a feeling he won't be playing regularly at the top level again,

Replying to Fedlingen I was about to say that Deli could play some games for the U21’s as an unregistered player to see how his fitness is standing up and if his ability is getting back to the way he was then go from there to some sort of short term contract.

Being honest I don’t hold any belief that he will ever return to top class football.

I do tend to agree, certainly I think if he was showing enough in training he'd have his contract by now. Difficult to see where he ends up if we say no thanks - if we've had all summer to take a close look at him and don't think he's up to it I don't see a lot of clubs who haven't had the benefit of observing him being willing to take a shot in the dark.
