People have all sorts of outlandish beliefs. I'm sure there are still people who believe the sun revolves round the earth and Suarez isn't a diver. We label those people "eccentric" and rather than laying siege to their mindset, move on with the rest of society.

Given that part of the definition of prejudice is "unreasoned", it isn't surprising in any way that reasoned arguments fail to sway their stance on the issue.

Most people seem to believe that being gay is nothing out of the ordinary; a few don't agree. If those few take perverse pride in that position then spending time arguing with them only waters their foolish conceit. No, as long as they follow the law as it relates to equality issues, let them fester.

Very true. But I think there should always hopefully be a reaction to certain comments, rather than just ignore, whether in public or online as otherwise it can add to the belief of some that it is OK to hold these views.

You've got a third of the lads here who have no problem with chanting "murderers" at Liverpool fans.

There's still some ugliness around, but it's a lot better than it was. And it's getting better all the time. We just have to keep watch that what we lose in ugliness we also don't lose atmosphere.

Banter and riproaring pisstaking still has its place, but sometimes it's a fine line between funny and offensive.

that isnt true at all. Every species does not have gays. Homosexuality runs at about 10% in the animal kingdom. With new studies saying much less in the human race.
