Alright guys, being fairly new to your forum, im just wondering what you all think of Moyes; he isnt a big name in Scotland, but seems to have carved out a name for himself down your way.

depends on where up there you mean, wasnt he a celtic defender of note? davey the laaa weir will forever be a ledge in blue hearts as will the gough, tates, his majesty, even collins all have roots north of.

my experience is limited by my years, the sharp had a crack in 86 on the world stage (?) would goodison be what it is without archies baseball bat? walters signing of a world cup final legend (marco) and class midfielder dac's.

give me esoteric blue with a pinch of labby, ball and dein than any other there is to offer.

easypool and norway take note.

Moyes is, imo, the third best manager we;ve had, coming in behind Kendall and Catterick. He has had to rebuild the club following the Smith/Johnson era's and has done brilliantly in that direction, tactically could do better.

Monts, he is still young, as managers go, and still learning. We are in good shape for the future with Moyes at the helm.

monty's spot on - 3rd best, but has the potential to overtake the others if (big if this) he can take us to the next level and bring in some silverware over the next several years.

Sorry Monty But can not agree Joe Royle must come before Moyes as well as getting us out of relegation he also won the FA cup,and to be honest I would place john Carey up a head of him simply for the style of football played this is not to knock Moyes its simply my opinion I am grateful that hes taken us away from the wrong end of the table but feel we should now be playing a more entertaining style not against the ManU and Arsenals but certainly the lower teams.

thats the difference, quality against the top and bottom is different from guts and fight versus the same.

transition.

No doubt about it, he's been a breath of fresh air, he's already taken us forward, hopefully there's more to come. COYB

I know what you mean but Carey had Moore's millions to play with and lost the changing room hence the infamous taxi ride. Our cup win was magical but the overall state of the club at that time was crap, that side was going, and did go nowhere. What Moyes has managed to do is what so many others never came near to doing, he has improved the club from top to bottom. Just look at our youth system, we are producing youngsters that other clubs simply envy. Our football is not on par to days of yore I'll grant you but there are times when this present side puts some really good stuff together. We are getting there but the old game is so much different to those old days, the pressures themselves are ten times worse and you work within a money dominated market when we don't have that much For all those reasons he takes my number three spot and deservedly so.

Oh behave yourself. Kendall had 3 and half good seasons. Royle had 1 good season. Moyes has been more consistent in moving the club from the bottom to 4th place and now a Uefa spot. In the current climate he has done wonders.

When Kendall did it the game was different and we weren't competing with managers who had 50m to spend.

So although Moyes hasn't won any trophies he has been more consistent then Royle and has done more to bring the club close to the "Big 4". Royle if I remember lightly [Poor language removed] off and didn't have the bottle to stand up to the chairman.
