I almost called in health & safety to my local chip shop a few weeks ago. Driest pie ever. Close to death.

Very rarely geta chippie in the evening due to cost however choice is cod, chips, curry sauce and peas.

My local does a decent dinner time special battered sausage, chips and curry for a fiver which is good value and my go to for a lazy lunch.

This. Local does kids meal, more than adequate after coming out the boozer lunchtime.

NYE eve is normally Chinese, but as they don't deliver and I'll be on the sauce from lunchtime, already got a Thai (wait for it)...box meal from m&s

cod or haddock?

Haddock.

For me, it's fish, chips, mushy peas and a pot of fruity curry sauce all covered in copious amounts of salt and their non-brewed condiment (it ain't vinegar!*).

*This is for tax-reasons.

Very rarely bother though as most chippies seem to have forgotten the art of cooking those strips of potato long enough for them to actually become chips.
