For those of you wondering how Polly is going on I have to report that she is thriving, it is incredible how well the animal is doing. This new drug has somehow put her back into remission and all her lumps have dissipated, it has been remarkable. She has eaten all week and for the first time in ages sat by the dinner table when we've eaten. She is however peeing a lot, the poor little thing is passing the impurities from her blood, she is like a mountain spring sometimes. Thank God she is gaining weight and for the first time in months she accompanied me for a walk along the Leeds Liverpool canal, we didn't do the full walk because the little bitch wanted to go back to the car although she had a thermal top on!(y)

It goes without saying I'm over the moon to have these bonus weeks with her, last week she should have been laid to rest so who knows how long she'll last.

fantastic news, really chuffed for you!

On Tuesday evening I got home, and was informed that my uncles dog had passed away, I didn't even know it had been ill.

He had had it for something like 13 years and I last saw it back in the summer when they came down to visit, and it seemed just the same as it had always been.

apparently over Christmas it had become ill, and had deteriorated to a stage that the only humane thing to do was to put it to sleep, this occured maybe Sunday or Monday last.

This was my uncles pride and joy, now divorced, he lived at home and the dog went everywhere, I can't imagine how he felt towards the final days, I won't see him again, If I had known last summer It would be the final time I would of made sure it had my full attention, it was a clumsy old thing, with a tendency to minor rebellions, but it's heart was in the right place.

I guess it's just one of those things, but it was just so sudden, but it lived to a good age.

Just have to move on, there's nothing more to be done now.

Pleased with Monty dog recovery, make sure you give that dog every bit of attention it needs, you never know how much time you'll have together.

RIP Jasper 1996-2010. :(

Sad story mate. I'm sure it must have been a devastating blow to your uncle.

RIP Jasper.

My cousin in Frisco lost his wife to cancer and now only has his dog George. When I chat with him on the phone you can sense how upset he is becoming as George approaches his end, he a 13 year old Rott. I'm fortunate to have my family, because I also wanted to do the humane thing and have Polly put down, against the wishes of others, fate conspired to give us more time with Pol, and yes these additional weeks will be a treat....weather permitting
