What Did You Last Eat Thread

My dislike of fish stems back to the school dinners I experienced way, way, back in the day. Every Friday brought the dinner van full of vats of steamed, boiled fish stinking the dining hall to high heaven. Tasteless trash full of bones, head, tails which brought you a clip from the dinner lady if you didn't eat the muck.
Because of that the only fish I have eaten has to be coated in batter and accompanied with chips, salt and vinegar.
Based on the fact that millions cannot be wrong, I have started to live dangerously and become a bit more adventurous and eating fish other from the chippy.
So the answer to the post's question is..... Naturally smoked fillet of haddock baked in foil, placed on top of two rings of black pudding, with some new spuds and garden peas.
Nice!

I love smoked haddock and I love black pudding, do they really go together. I'd never have dreamt they would.
Might give that a try sometime.

No harm at all in having a go with regards the black pudding. Provides a lovely accompaniment in my opinion. I don't like any of the sauces that are suggested, and you need a bit of moisture as the fish on its own is dry.
