Intresting quoates again from the ever increaseing media friendly ginger one! This time, hes asking for Kit Kat and for us all to give him a break in terms of the miracles hes pulled of in the context of resources available, which is fair enough IMO. So for all conspirocy theorists are his points fair enough, a further disclamer of i could do better if i had more cash, trying to spread the pressure form the team and himself on to the board or smoke signal to Jonny Billionaire or antoher club out there who might fancy a ginger manager, or am i just bored on a Monday?

"At this time, we don't have the resources to compete.

"But did Everton have the resources to compete over the last five seasons? No. But have we competed? Yes.

"And that's why I made a point the other day that the expectation of the media has risen because of what had happened over the last three or four years at Everton.

"They think that Everton maybe should be doing even better. But I think that when you look at the whole thing - what we have spent and where we are - then we've had a decent go.

"We don't have the finances to compete but we have done everything we can with what we have available."

"I look at Randy Lerner at Aston Villa and I see someone who has gone about his job nicely.

"He has let the manager get on with his business and backed him when he wanted him to.

"They are getting the benefits from a couple of years of steady building.

Is this just David Moyes telling the press just to back off. We to have benefited from a period of steady building, we are spending what we have. What more can we do? We've had a poor start, it's happened befor, the press should give the guy a chance.

spot on mate, this statment is for the growing unrest of the fans. an tbh moyes is dead right. He's worked miricals on a shoe string an it could'nt go on forever. i think he was hopeing for seriours investment in the summer an it did'nt come. Now were looking [Poor language removed] an he's letting us know.

Very clever from the gaffer. he's growing as a manager.

this just takes the biscuit.
next there'll be talk of a breakaway or a bit of time out , playin' atwix the defenders and the italian international Garibaldi being linked with us in the transfer window.

Sounds to me that its the way it is and were not going to get any better,he,s took the money and give up until the billionaire comes in.

Moyes should have walked in the summer. He had the high ground then on what he's achieved and what he could achieve with more resources. Now he's just a jumble of incoherent and contradictory statements and it's going to get real ugly for him, real soon.

It's a shame. He's earned the respect of most Evertonians for 6 years. Now he's settling for treading water and trotting out excuses for himself, his players and the boardroom. This is what Everton FC will do to you in the end.

Spot on, couldn't have out it better myself.

I think Moyes is trying to make a point about how he wants funds but doesn't want to **** off Kenwright in anyway. He shouldn't of signed his contract.

Not impressed at all.

He has always said his main job as manager is to raise expectations of the club. Now he has he is saying back off?

Agreed, but probably for different reasons.

He is a manager, his job is to to the best with the amount he has available, hes done this the past 5 years. Now that he realised no other clubs want him he's complaining.
