My introduction to The National via a magazine cover CD.
I went to see him about 15 years ago, first time I went to the tremendous Union Chapel in London. One of the first slowcore-ish bands, although their music is a bit more dreamy than quiet/loud/quiet which a few were like at the time
The singer mark kozelek is a bit of an idiot which probably held them back a bit, but he is really good. Some of his solo stuff under Sun Kil Moon is brilliant, but he puts a lot of music out
Lucky you, got rid of all my original vinyl years agoStill got my 7” single.
Brilliant !!My introduction to The National via a magazine cover CD.
Elo 's first song, written by Jeff Lynne for a 'b' side of a Move track but Roy Wood had other ideas and constructed the strings including his 20 quid cello he picked up in a second hand shop.
Yes it is like Dear Prudence, didn't Lenn9n say thats how he would have wanted The Beatles to sound if they had carried on. The Changeing Man , Paul Weller is a rip off of the Elo track lolgreat record but cant help thinking that the intro of this is a clear rip-off [around the mid section] of The Beatles Dear Prudence
without the strings, horns and symphony of course![]()
yes you are correct Sue, when you think about it there are a good percentage of songs that one can trace back to being rip-offs of other songs [to a greater or lesser degree] over the last 60 yearsYes it is like Dear Prudence, didn't Lenn9n say thats how he would have wanted The Beatles to sound if they had carried on. The Changeing Man , Paul Weller is a rip off of the Elo track lol
