Fabulous - and a decade earlier too! Alton Ellis was instrumental in helping ska evolve into rocksteady (which may never have actually happened if there hadn't been a brutal heatwave in 1966m making ska just too energetic a musical style to dance to in any sort of comfort).

He did a great version of of the Motown Spinners' It's a Shame. He also had enough kids to pick two football teams from!

Male Bonding.

36 minutes of some of the most enjoyable shoegaze music out. Always gets me extra excited when someone posts an entire album stream.

So, so, so much love for Bonobo! Can't believe I only discovered him a few months ago. He's playing at the Manchester Ritz (a very good venue, btw) in May and I am aaaalllll over it.

2013 looks amazing for music if you're name is Alio - Foals, Delphic, Frightened Rabbit, The Joy Formidable, Stornoway and Biffy Clyro to name a few. Arcade Fire and new Strokes coming out too...sweet jesus.

This album is absolute class from what I've heard the 8 times I've played it at work today. Even if it's the "Pop" side of Biffy which won't please some, it's got a bit of everything for me. Bring on March for the gig!!

They're never going to please everyone. They've matured from their earlier stuff but it's by no means a bad thing. Where are you going to see them in March?

Just watch Swim Deep get huge. This year WILL be great for music. Already got tickets to see Swim Deep, Peace, Palma Violets and The 1975 live.
