Yep, this was used as the theme tune for the t.v. quiz show Ask the Family. Why they chose this acid fringed record for the most strait laced, middle class programmes ever produced is one of life's great imponderables.
There are some excellent cover versions around if that's your thing. The original (above) was composed for Acker Bilk, who recorded his own version.

Continuing the exciting Ask the Family theme tune story, after deciding they'd had enough hippy nonsense, this was the next iteration :

Some how managing to survive into 1980s Ask the Family's third and final theme was used. It limped on until finally being put out of it's misery in 1984.
It's like the playlist for an eccentric serial killer as they're committing their crimes....
