Decided to work my way through the top albums on Rate Your Music in various genres. On Rock atm and about to listen to Velvet Underground & Nico.

Being the 9th best rated album in the genre should be a good sign, but given that #8 was Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven! by God Speed You Black Emperor, I am uncertain.
