A lot of record stores around the country can facilitate live performances from around 300 upto about a 1000 people. Many acts sell a package of a physical album sale plus ticket to the live performance for a very reasonable price. The act gets bigger presales of their albums and punters get to see them live for next to nothing.

Yup they were offering discounted gig tickets if you pre-bought their album. It’s the way of the world at the moment.

I've never seen that with a proper venue/gig like O2. How did that work then?. I thought Ticketmaster had a monopoly on O2 with them both being owned by the same company.

My bad. Just spoke to her. If you bought the album you got pre-sales access to the gig tickets - not discounted tickets.
