They’re touring again, been mulling over going.

As much as I love them, they can be a hit hit and miss live, depending on the set list.

That tracks a belter though, quite old skool.

Watching a great doc on Meat Loaf on BBC2. I had the pleasure of seeing him in Dublin in 88 or 89. May he RIP. Brilliant performer.

That's def true, we went to see them on some 30th anniversary tour thing. It was 3 hours or so when they played newer stuff for th first half, but then older stuff (including ones they tend not to play) and the half the as pretty bad.. second half was brilliant

Freddie Freeloader is probably my favourite track.
The difference between Wynton Kelly's piano on that track against Bill Evans on the rest of the album is amazing.
One isn't better than the other but they both have different techniques and a feel for the instrument

I’m only really starting to fully dive in to jazz. The way all the instruments are independent from each other blows me away. I’ll be flying along on a trumpet trail but then the piano or bass will grab me and I’ll be floating somewhere else. Same as blues music which is my mainstay lately.
