Yeah they started off with guitar, bass, drums and vocals but John Foxx kept pushing boundaries and they became more and more a synth band.

Around 79/80 John left to do his own stuff and along came Midge Ure. They then went more and more mainstream synth/new romantic.

They're a good band, the only slight sticking point is the singer being jailed for attempted murder when he was in a previous hardcore band lol
