Agreed, took years of listening to Sex Pistols before discoving PiL, really wish I found out about them sooner!

The stuff the stuff he did with Leftfield was excellent too - Lydon Leftfiled.
Open Up, being the pick of the bunch - it was insane when it came on in a club.

It’s a shame a lot of his work is overshadowed because of his success with the Pistols, happens with quite a lot of singers though

I think PIL are also a very overlooked / underated band too, there`s a lot of stuff that they`ve done, that people will know the tune, but won`t know it`s by them.
They use many musical influences to create their own sound and it all blends with Lydons unique vocal style.
I was lucky, in that in the early 90`s that I had a mate who lived in Manchester, that was bang into them and knew all the places that played their stuff. So I got to know a lot of it through him.
A lot of the places were on the " gay scene ", as their music fitted right in with the frenetic atmosphere inside lots of the bars and the clubs
