Anyone had a gander at the new Nicholas Jaar album yet. @coollino ?? @Baines' left foot ??

It's on emusic but hard to get a real flavour from the samples.

Ye, it's good. Quite Krautrock-y with the vocals etc. You won't really get anything from small samples.

You can stream it here on his website, it's pretty quiet at the start - to the point where I thought it wasn't working.

The intro sounds like the intro to Stranger Things, may even be sampled.

Sounds like it's just played by the same synthesizer, possibly a Roland Juno.

I'd say self-titled has to be my favorite but their follow up release to that is also awesome. This one is totally different than the other albums so it's hard to compare in my opinion. Band doesn't put out bad music honestly.

Yes, you're correct. I checked the credits for samples and there were none. Intro is definitely influenced by stranger things though i reckon.

Yeah, it's hard not to be. That whole soundtrack is great. The same guys that did the score for the show have a couple songs in a movie called The Guest. I recommend that if you haven't seen it already. Another all-synth/electronic soundtrack.

Frazer Hines, one time 'companion' of William Hartnell's Dr Who released this novelty record. Nice little organ break in the middle and a few spaces sound pushes it up from the mundane. Probably time for bed.
