Much prefer his/their other albums, this one is like an angst-y version of The Strokes, got bored after a few songs.
To me it feels like he's going back to his original sound, which I prefer. The last album was very good, but it was flat compared to the pop he infused in his early wall of sound song structures.
It's not as lo-fi/fuzzy as the Cloud Nothings s/t and the vocals are much softer, think it's the vocals on this i can't get on with.
Agree with Sun Kil Moon (lyrics are great, any idea how much is true?) and Real Estate. Those two and new St Vincent probably my fave 'guitar based' albums so far.
Just downloaded Perfect Pu$sy, heard good things about that and on Capture Tracks (one of my favourite labels)
