What are you currently listening to?

After listening to the new BBC album a few times now, I've come to the conclusion that it's my least favourite of theirs.

The first song is absolutely superb, and the second one is good too despite the intro sounding almost like a Christmas song, but then it never really reaches those heights again. I do like it, but it's gone a bit too electronic. I never thought BBC would go down that route either.
 
I need to give that a listen, I heard one track from it and didn't really enjoy it.

By electronic, do you mean a bit Two Door Cinema Club electronic? I did enjoy their use of a bit of electronic stuff on this, around the 3:30 mark.

No that's fantastic in that song. It's hard to put my finger on really, MGMT springs to mind a little bit to be honest.

I love electronic music, and I've got no problem with bands using electronic elements in their songs, but this album is a big step in the electronic direction compared to their other stuff. I didn't expect it at all.

Sounds weird coming from them like.

I've always loved their vibe. Their little guitar riffs and chords are so nice in certain songs and some of the basslines and drum work in songs are both fantastic, would be sad if they stopped that.

I'm going to give it some more time, as I've only been listening to it on YouTube at 320p and it's a bit crackly at best, so there's probably whole layers of music I can't hear! The vibe and tone of it is different too, it's not as happy as some of their previous albums, and there's a female backing singer in some of the songs too.
