What about this team.

I dont think we should throw the word talent around towards Robles, not yet anyway.

We certainly have a talented core of young players, hopefully the manager can add some real quality in the Summer and we can really start to kick on.
need to give robles time he's the best number 2 we've had for a long time at least he's a young keeper he's gonna get better

Beckham went on loan for 5 games mate
Moyes would still have barkley out now on loan
duffys been at the club for 6 years, is 22 and played less than 10 games. That says everything.

im not saying hes a bad player, but probably championship level. The fact he constantly gets sent out on loan, says that something isnt right with his development
This fella played for a Championship level(or lower!) team until he was 25:

Look its likely that hes not good enough, if you said to me "Look mate, ive watched him recently and hes rubbish", that would do, but to base it on assumptions seems a little unfair on the lad.

The world is filled with players who have been booted out at a very young age only to make there way back, people like lambert have gone through the entire leagues.

proves nothing. What I've seen of duffy is that hes a basic no nonsense defender.

I hope he has a successful career, if thats at Everton time wil tell. But I doubt it

Naismith will be 28 next birthday and up to a few weeks ago very few people thought he was a premiership class footballer.
Duffy is probably six years away from reaching his peak ,who knows what he will be like when he is 28.
At 22 we know that he performs very well at championship level, albeit in a very ordinary team. Everybody knows that he needed regular football and playing first team football every week will have improved him enormously as a footballer.
Rather than just speed alone,I would ask what his positioning is like ? is he a leader in the team ?
John Terry was never the fastest or the greatest footballer, but that hasn't stopped himhaving a great career.
I am not comparing Duffy to Terry, but simply highlighting that centrebacks are not all footballing greyhounds like Stones.

I've been wondering this all season.. why do people suddenly write off Duffy? He filled in a couple of games for us a while back and played very well - there's no need to talk down our young players' abilities.

I would never have a go at the lad.... He's a good honest young lad..... I just don't think e has what it takes to be a first choice centre back for a top ten team.... He'll probably have a decent career in football but I don't think It will be at Everton...... I hope I'm proved wrong.
