Our first 11 is arguably not stronger. The biggest problem we will have is next year when Lukaku goes, and we can't afford to buy him, because we have massively overpaid for McCarthy.

Offset by Moyes chucking in another 4 mill for felli because of his dithering - nutcase that Moyes

The only reason we over-paid for mcarthy was because Kenwright held out for 4 extra million for Fellaini. Basically United paid the extra for Mcarthy for us.

That doesn't make sense. The values of the two players are completely unrelated.

McCarthy's fee is what it is because that's what he's worth.

What a difference a day makes. Or in our case, 10 little minutes. Last night, I feared for the worst.

I talk about Everton A LOT, but I've barely talked about anything else all day. I've truly had a spring in my step all day. When I arrived at work this morning, my mate (a fellow blue) asked "what do you reckon about Lukaku lad?" I never even answered him with words; my huge grin was all it took, to get the exact same response.

For the record, lids. Barry started out as a left-sided centre back, when a back three was all the rage (or more popular than it is now, think post-Roy Evans/Hoddle) before moving to left back. After that, he had at least one season as a left mid, before moving into the middle.

The thing im intrigued about is the fact the club have released the fee for everything that happened last night. The fans now know that there is still money left over from the sales last night, so surely they wouldn't be stupid to let that money disappear?!

where did they post this? How much was the loan fee for Lukaku? How much is the loan fee for Barry? Are we paying all his wages?

On the OS. Stated the fee's for Fellaini, Anichebe and McCarthy. Everton havent released loan fee's, no club ever does.

Rare, but it is sometimes reported. For instance, we apparently had first option on Victor Moses but passed on his £1m loan fee. So that other club stepped up and took him.

I totally agree. I am EXTREMELY positive about our window but people saying Man Utd paid the extra £4 million for us is like saying the Carroll to RS deal was good because Chelsea paid the extra £20 million for them on the Torres deal.

Can't say I agree that McCarthy is worth £13-15 million. Truth is we overpaid by at least £5 million which can happen when you go for young British players. Let's hope he goes on to become a player that is worth the money we paid for him.
