Shane Long hides behind his work rate - there is very little to his game. He has been abject for twelve months or more apart from 45 minutes against Villa. He has turned down two substantial contract offers and subsequently was sold to Hull for a figure which shall be seen on Crimewatch.

Plenty of effort and industry but not the quality for a Premier League footballer.

The plus side is that it will make way and allow Berahino and Vydra the chance up-front, in roles where both have showed promise but were hindered by Shane Long and his dog chasing a bone technique.

This. Seen him play a couple of times now and was impressed at his athleticism,
have no idea if he can score though...

Long always scared the hell out of me when WBA played everton. I'm extremely glad he's gone before this match.
