I love Del, I really do.

I was pushing for us to make him our only signing over the last 12 months and pay Barca's 15 million release clause however I just don't think it should be used as a stick to beat Martinez with if he doesn't.

He'll be great to bring on as a game changer, his time will come soon enough anyway and right now the lads who have ben playing have been doing very well and the team looks extremely balanced on the pitch if not on paper. I could see Lennon actually starting before Del if I'm honest.

I'll be excited as anyone of Del does start I just feel that some posters (not you) are waiting in the wings ready to jump on any bad results we get cause of Martinez's loyalty to Kone particurly despite him playing well.

I'd play Del and Lennon on each wing.

With there massive 8ft centre backs and full backs we need to stretch them out. They will want to stay tight together and narrow.
Don't get involved in the battle and try play it down the sides as much as possible and we should create some chances.
If we play narrow with Naismith and kone as our wingers they are going to out muscle us and hit us early and keep it tight

yes and we beat them at the Hawthorns 6-2 only approx 5 weeks earlier we were hot favourites did everything but score!DoH!
I know Joey, another trophy similar to Man U in 1985 that slipped through our grasp,on both occasions we had dominated the opposition in league affairs, but on cup final day we were off colour, both games we lost in extra time, makes you think if we could have seen both games through to a replay we would now be sat with seven wins instead of five,as you say Joey, doh.:(:)

....if there's a doubt about Stones I can see Mori starting. 3 points is a requirement with a couple of big home games coming up, Pulis sets his team out to be difficult to beat but we might just create more opportunities at their place because they will have to have a go. I still think he will start with a 'safe' team and introduce the likes of Deulofeu if required.
I think it will be Browning!

They had one shot a luck rebound to astle and it went ion with him using his wrong foot like an arrow into the topo corner, Jimmy Husband a great player missed an easier header in normal time- he still has nightmares about it today so he says:rolleyes:

Yeah only two things about Jimmy Husband my old man ever told me about him was that sitter in the final, and Dave McKay nearly finishing his career at Goodison.

Our home record is nowhere near good enough to keep taking away draws. Quite simply if you want top 4 you have to take more than three points out of Watford Swansea and West Brom regardless of whether it's home or away. If we draw against WBA we're putting massive pressure on ourselves to win a fixture we haven't won in 5 years. That's followed by United who look good this year. I know we've had a difficult start and have done quite well point wise but it's exactly this acceptance of draws at poor sides which is why we are mid table a lot of the time. We could have put down a huge statement for top 4 this season as we have played well enough to beat Watford Swansea and Spurs. We should be up around second or even first. Instead yet again we're behind the likes of Liverpool and Spurs who have had poor starts all because we fail to beat the cannon fodder and default to drawing games whenever we're in danger of doing well and getting on a good winning run.

why have people liked this post - it's terrible

1) would you say top 4 teams would be happy with 5 points from soton, swansea and spurs away with no goals conceded? because i would. you can't just pick fixtures for your argument.
2) massive pressure does not come 8 games into a season, unless it's a derby, in which case it's irrelevant what are results are before.
3) mid-table a lot of the time? we've been up at the top 6 most of the season - not that positions matter at this stage.
4) we did not play well enough to beat spurs
5) a statement of our intent for top 4 will come next month with our games, not by beating teams you'd expect us to do well against
6) there's no way we should be within the top 2 given our fixture list - that's bonkers talk
7) why are you speaking as if we've already draw to WBA regarding to who we're below (the table is irrelevant at this stage really) ...who knows, we might just sneak a defeat :)
