You need to get the Midland Metro from Snowhill Station in Birmingham to Hawthorns, has its own stop at the ground.

You will be straight out after the game.

As pointed out above - you're best catching the Metro towards Snow Hill Birmingham and then it's a short walk to New Street station.

There is a train leaving New Street at 10.12pm for Shrewsbury and then a train from there to Chester arriving at 12.35am.Also there is a train leaving New Street at 10.55pm to Crewe, and then there is a bus service from there to Chester arriving at Chester at 1.16am. Not ideal like but at least a bit closer to Merseyside.

They're the best options but it looks like I'm going to have to drive. Can't be hooped with a getting into Chester after midnight. Wouldn't be home til after 2am and it's work the next day.
